So I've been quite busy this summer, and I've been in school for nearly a month now. It's been very chaotic so far, with all the work, but I've been doing okay so far.
My schedule it so bomb though!!

First Semester:
1st Period- American History of Film and Music
2nd Period- German
3rd Period- *AP Prep Algebra II
4th Period- Art
5th Period- Study Support/Lunch
6th Period- *AP Prep Composition 9
7th Period- Biology
8th Period- Marching Band

I have really awesome classes, and my teachers are pretty chill for the most part. I have 2 classes with Rake and 2 classes with Sandbox. Am Hist Film/Music and Marching Band I have with Rake. I have Marching band with Sandbox as well, and *AP Prep Comp 9 also.
Things are going well for now, and I'm immersed in a lot of extra-curricular things this year, which is great. The high school's so much better for this stuff than the middle school. I'm in the Drama Club, and hopefully going to be inducted into the Thespian Troupe this spring. I'm also in the GSA (Gay Straight Alliance) and the Art Club, as well as in the Marching Band Color Guard. I'm very busy, but I'm having a good time!
I'm also extremely happy right now because I'm going to a concert tonight!! I'm going to go see Headlights with Japandroids, Owen, Common Loon, and Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band. God, I'm SO EXCITED!!!!

SO TODAY'S A GOOD DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And school's going good!

Okay, I'm willing to buy that biology is a real class, and probably composition, too. But American music and film? Marching band? ART?!?! I didn't think those were considered actual subjects in American public schools.

Sounds like you've got a great line up. I'm really excited for you and very happy to have the update. [BIG SMILE!] Now that you're taking German, meine liebe, I'll have to inlcude you in may fantasies about taking a trip to Germany/Austria/Switzerland. I thought it would be really cool to road trip the "Bremen Trail" and stop in places associated with the Brothers Grimm and fairy tales.

Lots of love and hugs and kisses!!!!

Wow! Another post. So glad to be reading it. Wish you'd wander over to my site once in a while; it's not all that exciting, but you'd learn a little about what goes on down here, and you'd have a chance to make snarky comments to me. Turn about is fair play, n'est pas?

I'm with Goo on this schedule; does extra-curricular cover core subject matter in your school system? I'm curious about your foreign language choice, but I realize your older brother chose that language also, and I can see how you could talk among yourselves without your parents understanding what is going on. But since the greatest influx of foreigners in this country speak Spanish, why did you rule that out? Just wondering. . . . Besides you were already into French; why not continue? However, the more languages you learn, the better. I am so envious of the many Europeans who speak several languages.

Stay well; be brilliant; and have a great school year.

Love you.

Check out this link as a possible vacation idea. I just discovered this when I was dreaming of a Grand Canyon vacation.

I agree, oh so envious of the bi/tri + lingual Europeans, beyond belief. I don't understand the choice of German either, French is a much much much prettier language. Ugh.

Rake, I'll warn you...you're opening up a giant can of worms by mentioning French. That's a door you may not want to open.

Actually, the DH speaks a little Deutsch so it's just me that would be left out. Sandbox wants to learn Arabic.

Arabic is a good choice. So are Mandarin and Japanese. Plus, Spanish, Farsi, and Hindi. Soak 'em all up!

Oh! I left out Pashtu. And Russian.
